Davinci had some amazing anatomy drawings - 1 was of an old man where he discovered what we know as astheroschlorosis (constricted veins/arteries) - to prove this he would have needed to investigate a young persons vessels. A few months after he drew his old man anatomy he came out with a fetus in the womb (first time in human history we we're able to see this) - Here is my take on how he went about it
